Was the viral Carp Cafe in Chiang Mai worth the hype?

If you're in Chiang Mai with kids, this is a must do activity 🐘 it's educational, eco-friendly and most importantly fun, because what kid doesn't love poo 💩

The boys got to learn about and get hands on with turning elephant poo, into colourful paper to make fun, sustainable souvenirs!

Entry was only 150 baht per person (under 4s are free) which is about £3.50 each.

The DIY crafting area was great, the boys chose passport holders to decorate which I think were about 80 baht each (£2) but they have lots of different things to choose from at different prices.

SAVE this if you're planning to come to Chiang Mai as a family 🌎

This dish was called 'Dancing Shrimp', and they weren't just dancing, they were jumping 😅

I was looking up reviews on Google the night before we went to Huay Tueng Thao and I just happened to read a review where someone said they had delicious dancing shrimp! I didn't look up what it was but when we looked at a menu at a little food place on the lake and I saw Dancing Shrimp on there I thought 'someone said it was good, let's give it a try' and this is not what I was expecting AT ALL 🤣

Obviously we didn't eat them, we poured them into the river when we'd finished eating and watched them away 🙈

Have you ever had an experience like this abroad? 🍽

Its burning season at the moment for the farms around Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand and some days, the sky looks like this, and some days we get to see the beautiful mountain from our rooftop pool 👌

I did read about this before we came, but you know when you just have a plan in your head? Chiang Mai was always meant to be our starting point. I also did read that the government had asked its citizens not to burn this year, but I guess they didn't listen 😅

We've just been keeping an eye on it and on days its been particularly bad, we've had chill days in our apartment or found things to.do inside like cinema or soft play.

Would you have changed your plans?
